Map Interface

The Map widget appears when the widget is added to the workspace.

Description:

Use the Map widget to select regions on a map and add them to your queries.  You can display the results of your queries on the map in various ways, including using KML layers.

Filter mode selection:

Click-to-filter mode: When clicking on icons map and any other open widgets are filtered accordingly.

Click-to-zoom: Clicking on the map results in zooming.

 

 

 

Region selection mode

Click to select region selection mode. In region selection mode, you can select a region on the map to leverage the following options:

Add region to query: Filter query based on boundaries of selected zone. 

Set region as geo decay: Elevate documents from selected geo region to the top of search results, without discounting all other returned documents in query.  Graph will re-populate with results weighted in favour of geo decay selection parameters.

Zoom to region: Zoom the map to the selected region.

Cancel region selection: Cancels region selection.

 
Toggle additional settings. 

Overlays

Map: Sets overlay to map mode.

Satellite: Sets overlay to satellite mode.

 

Control which determines what data is displayed on the map widget.

Heat map overlay: Toggles on/off heat map.

Geo-tagged documents: Toggles on/off display of geo-tagged documents on the map.

Geo-tagged entities: Toggles on/off display of geo-tagged entities on the map.

Geo-tagged events: Toggles on/off display of geo-tagged events on the map.

KML layers: Toggles on/off display of any kml layers, if applicable.

 

 

Control which determines which Entity display types are depicted on the map.

Point: Toggle on/off.

City: Toggle on/off.

CountrySubsidiary: Toggle on/off.

Country: Toggle on/off.

GeographicRegion: Toggle on/off.

Continent: Toggle on/off.

 

 

Import KML:

Control which enables you to import a kml file from URL or file.

 

 
Control which toggles on/off "Zoom on Query" functionality. 
Export to KML. Reveals KML Export Options. 

KML Export Options

KML Export options appear when the "Export to kml" button is pressed.
