Communities

The Communities interface is displayed when clicking on Communities from the Manager interface.

 

Description:

Use the Communities interface for the following

  • Create/edit communities
  • Add/edit community members

Status

Specifies the type of Community

Community: Regular community.

Data Group: Testing only.

User Group: Testing only.

 
Community ID

System generated identifier for the community.

eg. _id: "4e1c5d7c20be6403ca94c3bb"

Will only be displayed when editing already created Community.

 
NameCommunity Name. 
DescriptionFree text description of the community 
Parent IdID of the new community's parent community (typically the System community) 
TagsComma separated text values (i.e. 'news,sports,movies') 
OwnerOwner of the community. 
Community Attributes"is Public": if true, then non-members can see this community 
"Users can self register": if true, then non-members can request joining this community (if visible); if false, then users can only be invited from within the community 
"Registration requires approval": if true, then non-members can add themselves to public communities without approval from the community owner/moderators 
"Users can create sub-communities": if false, then members without moderator/owner rights can create child communities. 
"Members are visible to other members": if false, then members without moderator/owner rights will not be able to see other members (the members field will be removed from returned communities). 
  
   
Number of MembersNumber of members associated to the community. 
MembersEnables you to edit community members, or add community members. 

 

Edit Community Members

Description:

Edit Community members is displayed when clicking on Edit Community Members.

CommunityName of the associated community for the user that you are editing. 
Member idSystem generated ID representing the user. 
Member NameName of the member. 
Emailemail address of the member. 
Member Type

Type of the member: Owner, Moderator, Content_Publisher, Member.

Membership Status

Active:

User is active on the community.

 

Pending:

To remove a user's ability to see the contents of a community you can select the Disabled option from the Status drop down list 

 

 

Disabled:

You can more permanently remove the user by clicking on the "X" button next to their display name in the Members list.
