Manager Use Cases

The purpose of the Source Manager is to help you ingest data into the Community Edition (CE) platform and prepare it for harvesting and enrichment.

The platform features a robust set of data harvesters that provide powerful data extraction and transformation (enrichment) capabilities.  The harvesters are designed to consume data from a variety of sources and media types including:

• Web based content accessible via URL including:
  • Static HTML content;
  • RSS and ATOM based news feeds;
  • Restful web services interfaces.
• Traditional relational database management systems (RDBMS) via Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) drivers;
• Files located on local and network attached storage devices.

This section will cover common Manager use cases, in an effort to speed time to deployment, and get you up and running quickly with the platform.  The use cases are organized by data type.
