Infinit.e Generic Installation Guide

Introduction

The following collection of documents describe how to install IKANOW's Infinit.e software on servers running CentOS or Red Hat Enterprise.

Note that the parent page links to easier ways of getting up and running with Infinit.e - this page is intended for more technical users to get a better understanding of the component technologies.

Installing an Infinit.e API Node

Steps 1 through 9 below should be followed to install an Infinit.e API Node.

1. infinit.e-platform.prerequisites.online or .offline
   1. (now update the infinite.configuration.properties file from the template)
2. infinit.e-hadoop-installer.online or .offline (Optional, only required to use Hadoop plug-ins; also can be performed at any point after 1.)
3. Install infinit.e-config
4. Install infinit.e-index-engine
   1. Elasticsearch upgrade notes
5. Install infinit.e-db-instance
   1. MongoDB upgrade notes
6. Install infinit.e-processing-engine
7. Install infinit.e-interface-engine
   1. Installing SSL if needed (extra AWS-specific steps)
8. Install infinit.e-record-engine (and infinit.e-logstash-installer, if required)
9. Install JARs not bundled with Infinit.e
10. Enterprise RPMs:
    1. Base enterprise RPM
       
       1. Install SSL if needed (extra AWS-specific steps)

Installing an Infinit.e Database Node

Steps 1 through 4 below should be followed to install an Infinit.e Database Node.

1. infinit.e-platform.prerequisites.online or .offline
   1. (now update the infinite.configuration.properties file from the template)
2. infinit.e-hadoop-installer.online or .offline (Optional, only required to use Hadoop plug-ins; also can be performed at any point after 1.)
3. Install infinit.e-config
4. Install infinit.e-db-instance
5. Install infinit.e-index-interface (see under "Standalone DB installation" section)
