The Map widget appears when the widget is added to the workspace.

Description:

Use the Map widget to select regions on a map and add them to your queries.  You can display the results of your queries on the map in various ways, including using KML layers.

Region selection mode

Click to select region selection mode. In region selection mode, you can click and drag to select a region on the map to add to your query. When this is done, the documents comprised by the selection are used to update your query.

Region Selection Mode

When using region selection mode, the following options are possible.

 

Add region to query:

Filter query based on boundaries of selected zone. 

Set region as geo decay:

Elevate documents from selected geo region to the top of search results, without discounting all other returned documents in query.  Graph will re-populate with results weighted in favour of geo decay selection parameters.

Definitions:

  • Ignore Workspace Filtering - Ignores filtering enabled by other widgets

  • Click to Filter mode - Clicking on document will filter workspace on selected doc

  • Region Selection mode - Draw a radius to add region to query, add geo decay, or zoom

  • Overlays - Select Map or Satellite mode

  • Show Menu - Heat Map Overlay, Geo-tagged documents, entities, events, KML Layers

  • Display Types - Point, City, CountrySubsidiary, Country, Geographical Region, Continent

  • KML Layers - Show/Hide additional KML layers
