Source Management

You can use the intuitive IKANOW Source Manager GUI  to consume data from a variety of sources and media types including:

  • Web based content accessible via URL including:
    • Static HTML content;
    • RSS and ATOM based news feeds;
    • Restful web services interfaces.
  • Traditional relational database management systems (RDBMS) via Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) drivers;
  • Files located on local and network attached storage devices.

Once the source data is ingested, the Infinit.e platform has a variety of visualization widgets and features to help you analyze the data to gain insights and see connections.

Audience

Infinit.e includes Source Manager, a powerful suite of user interfaces and tools designed to make it easy to get sources into Infinit.e for analysis purposes.  Many of these tools are suitable for use by the typical all-source, or cyber analyst and do not require "power user" or development know-how.  This user documentation will only address concepts and use cases targeted at this audience, and which derive from usage of the the Source Manager user interfaces.

That being said, source management is intrinsically an advanced topic, especially when taking into consideration Infinit.e's highly flexible, and extensible platform with its own customization engine.  For advanced source management topics a development background and firm understanding of concepts such as natural language processing (NLP), and big data are essential.  Advanced users can consult the Infinit.e API documentation, Developer Guides and SDKs.
