Overview

Use GeoTemporal to view  time periods in which named entities were mentioned, together with counts of the mentions for each time period.  You can also enable/disable the heatmap.

Using the GeoTemporal Visualization

Viewing Counts of Entity Mentions Over Time

You can use the GeoTemporal visualization to view counts of entity mentions over time

To view the entity mentions

1. Use the query bar to run a query against your data set.  For more information, see Search.
2. Click on Workspace>GeoTemporal.
3.  The entity mentions over time are populated on the Document Timeline and Focus Lense.

Document Timeline and Focus Lense

You can view the document count for the entities, as either a bar or line graph

To view as a bar graph

• From the Document Timeline and Focus Lense, click on Document Bar (left axis). 

The bar graph is toggled on/off.

To view as a line graph

• From the Document Timeline and Focus Lense, click on Document Line (right axis). 

The line graph is toggled on/off.

Viewing the Heat Map

You can view the entities mentioned in the documents as a heat map.  This shows you where the entity mentions occurred.

To view the heatmap

1. Use the query bar to run a query against your data set.  For more information, see Search.
2. Click on Workspace>GeoTemporal.
3. Ensure that  is toggled on. 

The entity mentions are displayed with their geo data on the map. You can use   to zoom in/out on the map.
